    Actually, there may have been many Shaitan. Adversaries in early mystical thought, an modern Traditional Witchcraft. These were Tempter Spirits that would come to tempt men with sin and steer them from their Fate. It was up to mankind to listen to their Fetch Spirit/Holy Guardian Angel/Animus to keep them on the right path. When you see old cartoons with a personal angel and a personal "devil" it is fairly accruate of old mystical and traditional occult thought.
